|
|
| I have a lucky bamboo, I assume its 2 seperate plants that were planted together with the one spiraling around the other 3 times. My concern is that its getting very tall, about 4 feet and although it seems sturdy, the leaves at the top look like they are getting too big and wonder if I can trim the leaves or cut the actual stem off and re plant it? Ive seen alot of these same plants much smaller but havent seen one quite this tall. I have a pic of it in case it would help, any info would be appreciated. Thank you- D

I think there´s no need to cut off the thrives. I´ve bamboos with taller thrives and they are doing very well.
But if you think it´s more beautiful, you can cut off the thrives near the stem. The stems will get new thrives and the thirves can be rooted in a glass of water.

And if you really have to cut then cut the new stalk just about the node. Mist the original stalk from time to talk to acclerate the new growth.
Like chako suggested you can put the cutting in water and it should root without any problem. Though i would advice you to get the cutting little later when the stem looks thicker to go with your original two stalks.
