|
|
Hello all,
I am new to this board, and I am hoping I can benefit from the wisdom of all of you out there! I have noticed this strange discoloration on the stem of my "bamboo", and I'm pretty concerned about it. I'm afraid it may spread to the other stems or kill the ones that are already infested. Any ideas on what to do with this? Should I cut the bamboo below (and maybe above) the infection to stop the spread? if so, with what tools?
Attached are a close-up of the disease, and a distance shot of the whole group. They are in water, and all the roots of the different stems have tangled into one huge brown mass. So, it's pretty much impossible to separate them without cutting something.
Thanks for all your help!

| Each individual stalk is about 1.5m tall. This should give some perspective as to how big the disease spot is. |

| This is a closeup of the disease. There are little nubs that look a bit like spikes that surround the decayed bits. |
